They were kind of surprised - I was told that the first year serial numbers started in the 60xxx range, maybe it was 64xxx(I can't remember exactly) and that my rifle must have predated the first year but that's all they could tell me. I called Winchester and talked to the historian about the rifle. Both barrels should have same barrel markings and matching serial numbers before originality can be considered. These extra sets of barrels are a rare option.
